Indian Bank rises on the bourses

Indian Bank is currently trading at Rs 184.15, up by 1.40 points or 0.77% from its previous closing of Rs 182.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 178.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs 186.50 and Rs 178.00 respectively. So far 205946 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 254.50 on 03-Jan-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs 166.50 on 21-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 192.95 and Rs 178.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 7914.21 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 80.00% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 14.09% and 5.91% respectively. 

Public sector lender, Indian Bank has increased its interest rates on Non-Resident External term deposits at 9.50% for one year and above and up to three years for deposits of amounts less than Rs 15 lakh with immediate effect.

The bank has also revised interest rates for amounts above Rs 15 lakh and up to Rs 5 crore at 9.25% for deposits of one year and above and up to three years. While for deposits of three years and above and up to five years, the revised interest rate is 9% for amounts up to Rs 5 crore.

Indian Bank is a mid-sized government bank with over 1,860 branches across India, one branch in Singapore and two in Sri Lanka. It has a particularly strong presence in Tamil Nadu.
