Clariant Chemicals’ production at Cuddalore temporarily suspended

02 Jan 2012 Evaluate

Clariant Chemicals (India) has temporarily suspended the operations at its plant located in Cuddalore at Tamil Nadu. The operation has been stopped due to the cyclone ‘Thane’, which hit Tamil Nadu coast on early hours of December 30, 2011. Further, there is no impact to the company's other plant located near Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu.

However, no major damage is caused to the production facility at Cuddalore and normalcy in operations are expected to be restored very soon. Also, the asset damage is covered by the insurance policy taken by the company.

Clariant Chemicals (India) represents a valuable repository of manufacturing and marketing experience. Its constituents were all well respected companies who played an invaluable role in the development of the textiles, leather, paints, plastics, printing inks and agrochemicals industries in India.
