Ashok Leyland surges on plan to invest Rs 500 crore for capex during FY15

Ashok Leyland is currently trading at Rs. 33.15, up by 0.40 points or 1.22% from its previous closing of Rs. 32.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 32.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 33.30 and Rs. 32.85 respectively. So far 255755 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 39.00 on 26-Jun-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 11.82 on 29-Aug-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 34.55 and Rs. 31.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 9391.39 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 38.82% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 34.21% and 14.60% respectively.

Ashok Leyland is planning to invest around Rs 500 crore for capex during FY15. Also, the company will continue to look at selling non-core assets and proceedings of those will be used for debt reduction programme. Moreover, the company needs to manage around Rs 6,000 crore of assets across seven locations in the World, for which maintenance capex is needed.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
