SKF’s R&D facility in India develops new products

SKF's R&D facility in India is developing new products for the global two wheeler industry. R&D centre of the company, which is called as Application Development Centre is located in Bangalore and it works on motorcycles and scooters. In the last 4-5 years centre has developed 30 new products.

The main R&D centre of the SKF is in Netherlands called Engineering Research Centre (ERC) and has conceptualized two R&D centers in Asia. The first one is in Bangalore, which is going to be an important part of its overall development process and the second one will soon come up in China sometime in 2012 with about 400 people.

In the coming years Global Centre in Bangalore is likely to look towards the development side on the product development, product engineering, and stimulation and it will become a full fledged group R&D centre. The centre in India has about 400 engineers and is expected to add 100 more.
