Autoline Industries eligible for incentives package under state govt norms

06 Jan 2012 Evaluate

Autoline Industries, an auto parts maker, has received the certificate of eligibility from the state government under the latter's Package Scheme of Incentives,2007. Under the scheme, Autoline will be able to claim a sales tax refund for sales within Maharashtra amounting to a total of Rs 77.38 crore.

Volatility in its share price was observed on account of the 110 acres of land they hold in the Chakan industrial area, near Pune. The component maker had provided that sale of the 40 acre plot would lead to a Rs 80-86 crore realisation for its wholly owned subsidiary, Autoline Industrial Parks Ltd, in which the parent company holds a 51.12% stake.

The component maker, which has grown through an aggressive acquisition policy, is now consolidating its group companies, with only their Italian acquisition still to be resolved. In September 2008, at the height of the overseas acquisition spree of Indian companies, Autoline had announced a two-step move to acquire a 60% stake in Zagato, an Italian design house. It is still to achieve closure and thus recover a part of its approximately Rs 24 crore investment. On the domestic front, it is waiting for Tata Motors to finalise its plans for a new plant at Dharwad, in Karnataka, for its light commercial vehicles. Autolines, as a component maker, is eyeing a location in the vendor park there although it holds a two acre plot in that town.
