Jammu & Kashmir Bank restores branch functioning in six out of ten districts in Kashmir valley

Jammu & Kashmir Bank (J&K Bank) has successfully restored functioning of all its business units (branches) in six out of ten districts in the flood affected Kashmir valley.  The districts in which all branches have been made functional include Anantnag (54 Branches), Bandipora (14branches), Baramulla (52 branches), Ganderbal (19 branches), Kupwara (34 branches and Shopian (18 branches). Out of 379 branches across the Kashmir valley, 359 branches have been made operational, so far.

Jammu & Kashmir Bank is the only state government owned bank in the country with the Government of J&K (GoJK) holding around 53% shareholding in the bank. JKB holds a monopolistic position in the state of J&K constituting majority of the credit and deposits in the state.
