Jammu & Kashmir Bank’s majority of branches & ATMs, which were affected by floods which hit Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) region on September 07, 2014, are operating normally.
The bank has total of 664 branches in J&K, of total 379 branches in Kashmir Valiey and 285 branches in Jammu division. Out of total664 branches, 661 have been restored, while out of total 753 ATMs, the bank has restored 575 ATMs.
Jammu & Kashmir Bank is the only state government owned bank in the country with the Government of J&K (GoJK) holding around 53% shareholding in the bank. JKB holds a monopolistic position in the state of J&K constituting majority of the credit and deposits in the state.
