Wipro surges on getting nod to set up a new SEZ in Andhra Pradesh

Wipro is currently trading at Rs 615.15, up by 18.80 points or 3.15% from its previous closing of Rs 596.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 598.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 616.60 and Rs 598.00 respectively. So far 267656 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 610.50 on 26-Feb-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs 465.40 on 27-Nov-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 599.20 and Rs 576.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 151521.41 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 73.44% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 13.36% and 11.26% respectively.

The Government has cleared Wipro’s proposal to set up a new special economic zone (SEZ) in Andhra Pradesh. The company holds 1.22 hectares in Resapuvanipalem in Visakhapatnam and wants this to become an SEZ.
