Ashok Leyland rises on bagging order worth $17 million from Sri Lanka

Ashok Leyland is currently trading at Rs. 44.90, up by 0.30 points or 0.67% from its previous closing of Rs. 44.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 44.20 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 44.95 and Rs. 44.20 respectively. So far 444693 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 45.65 on 10-Oct-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 14.90 on 17-Feb-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 45.65 and Rs. 42.30 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 12649.92 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 38.82% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 34.70% and 14.10% respectively.

Ashok Leyland, flagship of the Hinduja Group, through its joint venture in Sri Lanka, has received an order for 630 buses worth $17 million from private bus operators backed by the Government of Sri Lanka. Coming on the heels of the order for 2200 buses, the company further consolidates its position as the market leader in the Sri Lankan market.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
