Ashok Leyland gains on inking pact with Bank of Maharashtra for CV finance

Ashok Leyland is currently trading at Rs. 46.05, up by 0.30 points or 0.66% from its previous closing of Rs. 45.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 46.20 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 46.35 and Rs. 45.90 respectively. So far 2,44,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 46.35 on 27-Oct-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 14.90 on 17-Feb-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 46.35 and Rs. 44.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 13,076.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 38.82% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 34.70% and 14.10% respectively.

Ashok Leyland has tied up with state-run Bank of Maharashtra to provide finance to its commercial vehicle buyers and also deepen reach. The tie-up will help Ashok Leyland to extend its reach as it will give it an access to 1700 branches of Bank of Maharashtra.

The tie-up comes at a time when most of the banks, especially those from the private sector space, are wary about their exposures to the commercial vehicle space.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
