Indsil Hydro Power’s captive hydro electric power plant registered under REC

Indsil Hydro Power and Manganese captive hydro electric power plant having capacity of 21 MW has been successfully registered under the Central Renewable Energy Certificates (REC) Mechanism with effect from January 16, 2012. The company’s power plant is the first private generating station from Kerala to be registered under the REC mechanism.

The energy generated from January 16, 2012 shall be eligible for Renewable Energy Certificates which are tradable and saleable credit certificates and these certificates will be traded through power exchanges within a predetermined floor and forbearance price.

Indsil Hydro Power and Manganese is engaged in the generation of electricity from its captive hydro electric power plant in Kerala, India. The company also involves in ferro alloy smelting. It offers low carbon silico manganese primarily to steel and stainless steel manufacturers in India; and mild steel ingots. The company operates a 21 MW hydro electric power plant.
