Andhra Bank, a public sector lender, is planning to open 30 new branches in Coimbatore zone before the close of the current fiscal to take the branch network to 72. Of these, eight would be opened by end-December 2014.
Meanwhile, the bank is aiming a business level of Rs 5,000 crore from this zone this fiscal. As on September 30, this zone achieved a business of Rs 3,677 crore with deposits at Rs 823 crore and advances at Rs. 2,854 crore. This zone includes 23 districts, with 42 branches and 33 ATMs.
Andhra Bank has reported over two fold jump in its net profit at Rs 144.49 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2014 as compared to Rs 70.65 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income has increased by 15.88% at Rs 4423.62 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 3817.57 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2013.
