Dish TV plunges on reporting Q3 net loss of Rs 42.96 crore

Dish TV India is currently trading at Rs. 59.85, down by 1.30 points or 2.13% from its previous closing of Rs. 61.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 61.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 61.70 and Rs. 56.90 respectively. So far 1173710 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 94.20 on 20-Jul-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 54.30 on 09-Feb-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 67.00 and Rs. 56.90 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 6359.77 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 64.75% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 17.52% and 6.73% respectively.

Direct-to-home services provider, Dish TV has reported results for its third quarter ended December 31, 2011.

The company has posted a net loss of Rs 42.96 crore in the third quarter ended December 31, 2011 against of Rs 44.28 crore net loss in the corresponding quarter of previous financial year. The total revenue of the company has increased by 31.43% to Rs 490.46 crore for the quarter under review against at Rs 373.16 crore for the corresponding quarter of previous financial year.

Dish TV is a part of Essel Group, is India’s first direct to home entertainment service provider. The company provides around 225 channels, highest in numbers in this segment. It also provides games, interactive TV, Movies on Demand, etc. Dish TV is market leader in Direct to home (DTH) service having a pan-India presence.
