Punj Lloyd soars on receiving FIPB's approval for manufacturing defence items

Punj Lloyd is currently trading at Rs. 39.00, up by 3.55 points or 10.01% from its previous closing of Rs. 35.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 38.05 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 39.70 and Rs. 38.05 respectively. So far 2,26,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 60.85 on 19-Jun-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 24.90 on 30-Jan-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 39.70 and Rs. 32.85 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1,295.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 37.15% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 13.64% and 49.22% respectively.

Punj Lloyd has received Foreign Investment Promotion Board’s (FIPB) approval for manufacture of defence items. FIPB, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India have approved the proposal of the company for manufacturing of equipment systems and associated assemblies for the defence sector.

Besides, foreign equity participation in the company including FDI & Investment by FII/FPI/FVCI/QFI/NRI through portfolio investment has been capped at 32.99% of the paid-up equity capital of the company.

Punj Lloyd provides engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) and project management services. It provides services to oil and gas, energy, infrastructure petrochemical, telecom broadband and utilities sectors, among others.
