Saraswati Industrial surges on planning to set up JVC with Hitachi Zosen

Saraswati Industrial is currently trading at Rs. 767.30, up by 11.60 points or 1.54% from its previous closing of Rs. 755.70 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 761.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 767.30 and Rs. 744.95 respectively. So far 1220 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1117.00 on 25-Jan-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 690.50 on 06-Jan-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 769.95 and Rs. 702.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 549.03 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 58.77% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 0.05% and 41.18% respectively. 

Saraswati Industrial Syndicate is proposing to set up a Joint Venture Company (JVC) along with Hitachi Zosen Corporation, Japan, and the discussions are underway. The shareholding pattern is likely to be 51:49 between the company and Hitachi Zosen Corporation.

The JVC will use the manufacturing facilities owned by the Company at Dahej to manufacture large capacity Pressure Vessels.

Saraswati Industrial Syndicate manufactures bars and rods, metal, machine tool parts and accessories, steel and sugar products. The company's principal activity is to manufacture engineering equipments. It operates in two segments: Engineering and Sugar.
