Canara Bank gains as FIIs hike stake in December quarter

Canara Bank is currently trading at Rs. 457.50, up by 0.90 points or 0.20% from its previous closing of Rs. 456.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 457.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 459.80 and Rs. 452.50 respectively. So far 29959 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 498.00 on 09-Jun-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 209.00 on 14-Feb-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 467.35 and Rs. 434.95 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 21162.56 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 69.00 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 24.38 % and 6.63 % respectively.

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) have increased their holdings in Canara Bank by nearly 39 basis points to 11.21% at the end of the third quarter from 10.82% in the second quarter ended September 30, 2014. Furthermore, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) have also increased their stake in the company to 13.17% from 12.71% as on September 30, 2014.

Canara Bank is an Indian state-owned bank headquartered in Bangalore, Karnataka. As of July 2014, the bank had a network of 5150 branches and more than 7000 ATMs spread across India. The bank also has offices abroad in London, Hong Kong, Moscow, Shanghai, Doha, Dubai, and New York.
