Ashok Leyland reports 36% rise in January sales

Ashok Leyland, the commercial vehicle manufacturer, has reported an increase of 36% in sales in January 2015 to 10,639 units as against 7,847 units sold in the same period of last year. The company has experienced a rise of 45% in its medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) products segment to 8,005 units in January. The company’s light commercial vehicle (LCV) witnessed a rise of 14% to 2,634 units in January 2015. Sales for April 2014-January 2015 period went up 14% over previous year period to 81,382 units.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
