Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) Bank, Kashmir-based state-owned bank, has conducted financial literacy camps in Udhampur and Baramulla besides concluding a training programme in Pulwama. The camp was attended by villagers mostly farmers, teachers, students and unemployed Youth.
The bank also organised a financial literacy camp besides coin/note exchange mela at Lander, a remote village in Udhampur. On the occasion, a total of 5000 coins of denomination of Rs 5 & Rs 10 were also distributed.
Jammu & Kashmir Bank is the only state government owned bank in the country with the Government of J&K (GoJK) holding around 53% shareholding in the bank. JKB holds a monopolistic position in the state of J&K constituting majority of the credit and deposits in the state.
