Kaveri Seed soars as RBI hikes FII limit

Kaveri Seed Company is currently trading at Rs. 805.50, up by 22.45 points or 2.87% from its previous closing of Rs. 783.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 815.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 820.00 and Rs. 800.00 respectively. So far 15599 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1077.00 on 20-Mar-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 605.00 on 16-Jun-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 895.00 and Rs. 762.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 5581.03 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 57.66% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.94% and 13.40% respectively.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has allowed foreign portfolio investors to invest up to 49 per cent in Kaveri Seed Company. The RBI decision follows foreign investor shareholding falling below the revised threshold limit. At the end of March 2015, FIIs held 22.26 per cent stake in the seed major.

The company has vast experience in seed production of major agricultural crops backed by a very strong in-house R&D programme for crops maize, cotton, sun flower, bajra, sorghum, rice and several vegetable crops.
