Ashok Leyland spurts on reporting 41% rise in June sales

Ashok Leyland is currently trading at Rs 75.20, up by 1.10 points or 1.48% from its previous closing of Rs 74.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 75.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 76.30 and Rs. 75.15 respectively. So far 573182 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 77.00 on 15-Apr-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs 29.05 on 14-Jul-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 74.90 and Rs 68.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 21443.68 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 38.82% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 32.4% and 16.37% respectively.

Ashok Leyland, the commercial vehicle manufacturer, has reported an increase of 41% in sales in June 2015 to 10,461 units as against 7,411 units sold in the same period of last year. The company has experienced a rise of 46% in its medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) products segment to 8,048 units in June. The company’s light commercial vehicle (LCV) witnessed a rise of 26% to 2,413 units in June 2015.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
