PVR rises on plan to acquire 70% stake in Zea Maize

PVR is currently trading at Rs. 855.80, up by 20.25 points or 2.42% from its previous closing of Rs. 835.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 842.65 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 861.45 and Rs. 842.65 respectively. So far 17728 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 885.00 on 23-Jul-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 572.00 on 23-Jan-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 853.00 and Rs. 791.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 3987.59 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 29.50% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 30.75% and 39.75% respectively.

PVR has reportedly bought 70% stake in Zea Maize, which owns the Delhi-based startup 4700BC Popcorn, for Rs 5 crore. Post the investment, the startup will be a subsidiary of PVR but will continue to function independently.

PVR is engaged in the business of film exhibition. The company operates other business such as providing content, film distribution and Entertainment Park through its subsidiaries. Currently, the company has achieved the status of being India’s largest cinema chain.
