Camson Bio Technologies has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Kochi-based Vazhakkulam Pineapple Growers and Processors (VPGP), also known as Agro Park for 'zero residue' pineapple cultivation. With this, VPGP, an association of over 500 large pineapple growers that accumulatively own over 13,000 hectares of land, will now be cultivating pineapple using 'bio fertilizer or natural fertiliser' developed by Camson to produce organic pineapple for better realisation. This will help every farmer associated with the organisation to go organic, eco-friendly, improve land conditions, boost yields and reduce the cost of cultivation.
Camson Bio Technologies has pioneered and introduced a unique microbial 'secondary metabolites' based solutions which are 100% organic in nature. Secondary metabolites are organic compounds produced by microbes as a response mechanism under stress. Combinations of these secondary metabolites are used to develop bio-pesticides, bio-insecticide and bio-fungicide. Producing organic pineapple with 'zero residue' technology is set to fetch at least 50% premium compared to normal variants of fruits available in the market.
