REC gains on inking two MoUs with Andhra Pradesh utilities to provide Rs 9,000 crore loan

REC is currently trading at Rs. 270.05, up by 4.15 points or 1.56% from its previous closing of Rs. 265.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 266.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 272.95 and Rs. 264.55 respectively. So far 83,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 371.05 on 04-Mar-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 211.40 on 25-Aug-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 278.00 and Rs. 252.85 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 26,666.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 60.64%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 33.21% and 6.16% respectively.

Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), a public sector company, has signed two separate MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding) with Andhra Pradesh power utilities to extend a fresh loan of Rs 9,000 crore. The objective of MoUs is enhancing the generation of Green Power and for creation of Transmission network in Andhra Pradesh. The company has signed first agreement with Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (APGENCO) for Rs 3,000 crore for setting up a 500 MW Solar power generation project in Anantpur, while second agreement was signed with Andhra Pradesh Transmission Corporation (APTRANSCO) for Rs 6,000 crore for Transmission & System improvement projects in the Capital region of state. 

REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric co-operatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
