Ashok Leyland rises on reporting 61% rise in September sales

Ashok Leyland is currently trading at Rs. 94.20, up by 2.00 points or 2.17% from its previous closing of Rs. 92.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 93.20 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 94.55 and Rs. 92.80 respectively. So far 1224114 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 99.50 on 18-Aug-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 41.15 on 01-Oct-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 94.55 and Rs. 87.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 26637.41 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 38.82% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 32.56% and 16.24% respectively.

Ashok Leyland, the commercial vehicle manufacturer, has reported an increase of 61% in sales in September 2015 to 14,771 units as against 9,185 units sold in the same period of last year. The company has experienced a jump of 83% in its medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) products segment to 12,134 units in September. The company’s light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment witnessed a rise of 3% to 2,637 units in August 2015.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
