Ashok Leyland sold 1,977 vehicles in May growing by 13 per cent sequentially from selling 1,750 units in April this year. However, it witnessed 65 per cent drop when compared with the May 2008 figure of 5,576 units.
The medium and heavy goods vehicle segment witnessed a 68 per cent drop to 1,643 units (5,119 units) sold this May, while the passenger vehicle segment dropped by 47 per cent to 599 units in the month.
Exports doubled to 280 units in May against previous month this year. However, it saw 32 per cent negative growth when compared with same month last year.
