BHEL surges on commissioning 2730 MW power projects in first half of 2015-16

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) is currently trading at Rs. 207.85, up by 2.25 points or 1.09% from its previous closing of Rs. 205.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 208.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 209.90 and Rs. 206.30 respectively. So far 321674 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 299.50 on 04-Feb-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 192.10 on 29-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 209.90 and Rs. 197.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 50665.32 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 63.06% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 33.21% and 3.73% respectively.

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has once again demonstrated its project execution prowess with the commissioning of 2,730 MW of utility power projects in the first half of the current financial year (2015-16). This is the highest achievement in the corresponding period in last 4 years. It is also more than double the power project commissioning achievement of 1,167 MW in the corresponding period of last year. In addition to the 2,730 MW utility sets commissioned during this period in the country, power generation has also commenced from the BHEL-supplied 660 MW unit at Lalitpur TPS in Uttar Pradesh. Significantly, in 2014-15, BHEL exceeded the commissioning target set by Government for it by 19%.
