Oriental Bank of Commerce ties up with Medanta

Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) has tied up with Medanta -- the Medicity to take forward the mission of TB-free Haryana. The bank has handed over a specially equipped mobile van to Medanta and this van is fitted with a digital chest x-ray and CB-NAAT machine and other diagnostic tools. With the help of this mobile van, doctors can screen up to 50 people every day.

The van will visit primary health centres run by the government every day of the week to perform chest x-rays for patients suspected of having pulmonary tuberculosis. The districts to be covered in the first phase of the project include Rewari, Gurgaon, Meerut, Palwal and Jhajjhar.

The bank has posted 3.39% rise in its net profit at Rs 301.31 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2015 as compared to Rs 291.42 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income has increased by 2.36% at Rs 5454.13 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 5328.58 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2014.

The bank’s gross NPA for the July-September quarter of the current fiscal rose to 5.70%, as compared to 4.74% in the same quarter of the previous year. Besides, bank’s Net NPA stood at 3.55% in Q2FY16.
