Arvind bags national energy conservation award 2015

Arvind has bagged the first prize in the National Energy Conservation Award 2015 in textile sector given by the Union Ministry of Power. The company has bagged this award consecutively for the second year in a row on account of its energy savings achieved through various initiatives by its unit situated at Santej in Gujarat.

The award of excellence given to the company is on the back of nearly 13% reduction in specific consumption in thermal energy and 10% reduction in specific consumption in electrical energy compared to last financial year.

The company has introduced various initiatives in its plant to conserve energy like replacement of TFL with energy efficient LED lighting, installation of energy efficient compressors, VFDs in various machines, using of day lights in production halls, and replacement of existing pumps with energy efficient pumps.

Arvind is India's largest integrated textile player and is one of the oldest and most respected groups in the Textile Business in India. The company is also one of the largest producers of denim fabrics and is supplier to a large number of fashion brands in the world.
