Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has bagged an order worth Rs 1,445 crore for a 600 MW thermal power project in Andhra Pradesh.The contract (rpt) contract has been awarded by Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited (APGenco).
The contract envisages setting up a 600 MW thermal power generating unit for APGenco's upcoming coal-based thermal power project, located at Rayalaseema in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh.The Rayalaseema thermal power project is already equipped with five BHEL-built units of 210MW each.The latest contract envisages design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of steam turbines, generators and boilers, among others.
In Andhra Pradesh, BHEL is also currently executing orders for three more thermal units, which will generate 1,700 MW of power, on commissioning. BHEL, a leading power equipment maker, has established the capability to deliver 15,000 MW per annum and further augmentation to 20,000 MW per annum is underway.crackcrack
