Ashok Leyland surges on reporting over six-fold jump in Q3 net profit

Ashok Leyland is currently trading at Rs 82.40, up by 1.30 points or 1.60% from its previous closing of Rs 81.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 84.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 84.60 and Rs. 80.40 respectively. So far 650210 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 99.65 on 30-Nov-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 63.85 on 27-Apr-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 92.45 and Rs. 78.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 23250.81 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 44.30% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 16.12% and 39.58% respectively.

Ashok Leyland has reported over six fold jump in its net profit at Rs 198.63 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2015 as compared to Rs 32.09 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company has increased by 21.70% at Rs 4111.22 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 3378.26 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2014.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
