Ashok Leyland surges on reporting 25% rise in February sales

Ashok Leyland is currently trading at Rs. 89.75, up by 2.15 points or 2.45% from its previous closing of Rs. 87.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 88.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 90.45 and Rs. 88.40 respectively. So far 1817963 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 99.65 on 30-Nov-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 63.85 on 27-Apr-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 92.45 and Rs. 84.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 25641.35 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.38% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 14.93% and 34.69% respectively.

Ashok Leyland, the commercial vehicle manufacturer, has reported an increase of 25% in sales in February 2016 to 13,403 units as against 10,762 units sold in the same period of last year. The company has experienced a jump of 31% in its medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) products segment to 10,798 units in February 2016. The company’s light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment witnessed a rise of 3% to 2,605 units in February 2015.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
