The Exchange had sought clarification from Bharat Heavy Electricals with respect to news article appearing in The Economic Times on April 11, 2016 titled ‘NTPCs Bangla JV Awards EPC Contract to Bhel for $2.4 b’, Bharat Heavy Electricals replied stating that the contract for the subject project (2x660 MW Maitree Power Project in Bangladesh) is yet to be signed. The financial closure is under process. BHEL has neither issued a Press Release nor communicated the subject information to media persons.
