Ashok Leyland gains on reporting 21% rise in April sales

Ashok Leyland is currently trading at Rs. 107.60, up by 1.00 points or 0.94% from its previous closing of Rs 106.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 106.70 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 108.00 and Rs. 106.00 respectively. So far 515069 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 112.80 on 13-Apr-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 63.95 on 16-Jun-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 109.15 and Rs. 104.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 30564.72 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 44.30% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 18.63% and 37.08% respectively.

Ashok Leyland, the commercial vehicle manufacturer, has reported an increase of 21% in April 2016 sales to 10,180 units as against 8,435 units sold in the same period of last year. The company has experienced a jump of 20% in its medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) products segment to 7,871 units in April 2016 as compared to 6,549 units in March 2015. The company’s light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment witnessed a rise of 22% to 2,309 units in April 2016.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
