Ashok Leyland reports 67% fall in Q4 net profit

Ashok Leyland has reported results for the fourth quarter and year ended March 31, 2016.

The company has registered a fall of 66.51% in its net profit after tax at Rs 77.02 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2016 as compared to Rs 229.97 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company has increased by 31.79% at Rs 5987.24 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 4542.95 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2015.

For the year ended March 31, 2016, the company has posted a twofold jump in its net profit after tax at Rs 721.78 crore as compared to Rs 334.81 crore for the same period in the previous year. Total income of company increased by 38.32% at Rs 18931.45 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 13686.65 crore for the period ended March 31, 2015.  

For the year ended March 31, 2016, on the consolidated basis, the company has posted a jump of eightfold in its net profit after tax, minority interest and share of profit of associates at Rs 1070.68 crore as compared to Rs 133.89 crore for the same period in the previous year. Total income of company has increased by 34.00% at Rs 20810.58 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 15529.71 crore for the period ended March 31, 2015.
