BHEL surpasses capacity addition target of 7145 MW for the year 2011-12

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has surpassed capacity addition target of 7145 MW as set by Central Electricity Authority and the Power Ministry for the year 2011-12. The company has achieved capacity addition of 7910 MW as on date.

The Minister for Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises has directed BHEL to set up focused working groups for having increased synergy between the company and other PSUs of Department Heavy Industry.

Besides, the ministry has also advised to explore possibilities of diversification in both related and unrelated areas including Mass Rapid Transport systems, water treatment etc., to leverage the inherent engineering capabilities of the company along with formulating strategies to increase its presence in the export markets.

BHEL has been committed to the nation’s power development programme and has reaffirmed its commitment to the Indian Power Sector by equipping itself by way of contemporary technology, state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and skilled technical manpower.
