Tata Motors gains as its arm JLR launches petrol variant of Discovery Sport

Tata Motors is currently trading at Rs. 484.75, up by 3.10 points or 0.64% from its previous closing of Rs. 481.65 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 482.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 486.15 and Rs. 477.25 respectively. So far 573540 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 486.15 on 21-Jun-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 266.00 on 11-Feb-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 483.15 and Rs. 441.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 139509.68 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.01%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 41.30% and 8.65% respectively.

Tata Motors’ subsidiary -- Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has launched 2 litre petrol derivative of Land Rover Discovery Sport at a starting price of Rs 56.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company has taken this step after the changing business environment in India, owing to the limited ban on diesel vehicles, has affected its business as it now looks to introduce more petrol variants of its cars. Further, the company will add three more showrooms this financial year to take its total to 26 by the end of the year.
