Ashok Leyland surges on reporting 7% rise in June sales

Ashok Leyland is currently trading at Rs. 99.90, up by 1.30 points or 1.32% from its previous closing of Rs. 98.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 99.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 100.55 and Rs. 98.85 respectively. So far 1143275 shares were traded on the counter

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 112.80 on 13-Apr-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 70.50 on 06-Jul-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 100.55 and Rs. 91.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 28458.77 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.38%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 16.32% and 33.30% respectively.

Ashok Leyland, the commercial vehicle manufacturer, has reported an increase of 7% in June 2016 sales to 11108 units, as against 10429 units sold in the same period of last year. The company has experienced a jump of 8% in its medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) products segment to 8685 units in June 2016, as compared to 8016 units in June 2015. Light commercial vehicle (LCV) of the company registered sales of 2423 units in June 2016 as against 2413 units in June 2015.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
