Ashok Leyland gains on reporting 28% rise in October sales

Ashok Leyland is currently trading at Rs. 91.85, up by 0.50 points or 0.55% from its previous closing of Rs. 91.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 91.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 92.65 and Rs. 90.05 respectively. So far 909547 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 112.80 on 13-Apr-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 75.15 on 30-Sep-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 92.65 and Rs. 84.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 25797.87 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.38%, while institutions and non-institutions held 18.70% and 30.92% respectively.

Ashok Leyland, the commercial vehicle manufacturer, has reported an increase of 28% in October 2016 sales to 12533 units, as against 9803 units sold in the same period of last year. The company has experienced a jump of 33% in its medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) products segment to 9574 units in October 2016, as compared to 7176 units in October 2015. Light commercial vehicle (LCV) of the company registered sales of 2959 units in October 2016 as against 2627 units in October 2015.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
