Realty stocks jumps after FM announces carpet area to be counted for affordable housing

Realty stocks rallied after Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced that Instead of build-up area, carpet area will be counted for affordable housing. He also proposes to finish 1 crore houses by 2019 for those living in kachcha houses.  Furthermore, Government has increased rural houses target to 1 crore and increased outlay to Rs 15,000 crore to Rs 23,000 crore. 

Ashiana Housing is currently trading at Rs. 166.00, up by 21.95 points or 15.24% from its previous closing of Rs. 144.05 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 145.65 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 170.30 and Rs. 145.65 respectively. So far 137023 shares were traded on the counter.

DLF is currently trading at Rs. 139.70, up by 4.75 points or 3.52 % from its previous closing of Rs. 134.95 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 138.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 139.85 and Rs. 135.70 respectively. So far 640455 shares were traded on the counter.

Godrej Properties is currently trading at Rs. 341.00, up by 9.60 points or 2.90% from its previous closing of Rs. 331.40 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 333.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 341.00 and Rs. 332.35 respectively. So far 3858 shares were traded on the counter.
