Rupa & Company surges as arm enters into License Agreement with 'Fruit of the Loom'

Rupa & Company is currently trading at Rs. 305.10, up by 30.30 points or 11.03% from its previous closing of Rs. 274.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 292.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 319.70 and Rs. 292.50 respectively. So far 22,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 336.00 on 12-Apr-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 244.00 on 10-Jan-2017.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 319.70 and Rs. 269.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2,429.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.93%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 0.01% and 25.06% respectively.

Rupa & Company’s wholly-owned subsidiary -- Oban Fashions, has entered into a License Agreement with Fruit of the Loom, INC., a New York Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Company, whereby the said wholly-owned subsidiary of Rupa & Company has acquired the exclusive license from the said Fruit of the Loom, INC., to manufacture, distribute, advertise and sell innerwear and outerwear products for men, boys, women, girls and toddler in India, under their brand names and marks.

Rupa & Company exports its branded products to Myanmar, West Asia and African markets such as Nigeria and Ghana.
