BHEL inks agreement with IROAF to set-up 2 MW roof top power plant

BHEL has inked an agreement with Indian Railways Organization for Alternate Fuel (IROAF) of Indian Railways for constructing a 2 MW roof top power plant at a record low cost of Rs 3.58 crore per MWp (Megawatt peak) under Government of India’s Incentive Scheme.

The plant will be commissioned within next 10 months. It will be set up at Diesel-Loco Modernization Works, Patiala formerly Diesel Component Works, Patiala. This is the first project to be covered under Achievement Linked Incentive / Award Scheme of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) for Government buildings.

BHEL is India’s largest engineering and manufacturing company of its kind. It is a power plant equipment manufacturer and operates as an engineering and manufacturing company.
