BHEL is currently trading at Rs. 212.50, up by 6.05 points or 2.93% from its previous closing of Rs. 206.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 209.15 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 213.40 and Rs. 208.75 respectively. So far 551877 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 420.67 on 23-May-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 197.80 on 18-May-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 213.50 and Rs. 197.80 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 52158.36 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 67.72% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 26.33% and 5.95% respectively.

State-owned heavy equipment maker - Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has been awarded a contract for supply of electrostatic precipitator package for a 1320- mw thermal power project at Solapur, Maharashtra by the power major National Thermal Power Corporation. As per contract, BHEL will be working on design, engineering, manufacture, supply and erection and commissioning of the said package.

BHEL will be manufacturing the package at its Ranipet plant and the high voltage rectifier transformers will be provided by company’s Jhansi plant. The western region power unit of BHEL will be taking charge of erection and commissioning of the package.

Recently, BHEL has secured a prestigious contract worth Rs 380 crore from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (RRVUNL), for setting up a Frame 9E Gas Turbine-based 160 MW CCPP as an expansion project (Stage IV) of Ramgarh power plant in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan.
