HCL Infosystems surges on getting nod for slump sale of undertaking of HCL Learning

HCL Infosystems is currently trading at Rs. 57.30, up by 0.85 points or 1.51% from its previous closing of Rs. 56.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 58.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 58.30 and Rs. 57.20 respectively. So far 291993 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 64.85 on 25-Jan-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 36.00 on 06-Jun-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 60.95 and Rs. 55.90 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1281.79 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 58.04%, while institutions and non-institutions held 3.93% and 38.03% respectively.

HCL Infosystems has received an approval for slump sale of an undertaking (Digischool Business undertaking consisting of business of sale of software licenses to K-12 schools) of HCL Learning, a wholly owned subsidiary, on a going concern basis to Everest Edusys and Solutions.

The board of directors at its meeting held on April 27, 2017 has approved for the same. The closure of slump sale transaction is subject to certain conditions listed out in the Business Transfer Agreement. Subsequent to the closure of the said acquisition, Everest Edusys and Solutions would become an associate company of HCL Learning.
