BHEL commissions 1,980 MW supercritical thermal power plant in Uttar Pradesh

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has successfully commissioned the 1,980 MW coal-based supercritical thermal power project in Uttar Pradesh. The first two units of the project, commissioned earlier by BHEL, are already under commercial operation. Located in Bara tehsil in Allahabad district of Uttar Pradesh, the project is owned by Prayagraj Power Generation Company (PPGCL), a subsidiary company of Jaiprakash Power Ventures.  Notably, in the last 17 months, six supercritical sets have been commissioned in Uttar Pradesh, all of which have been installed by BHEL. 

BHEL is India’s largest engineering and manufacturing company of its kind. It is a power plant equipment manufacturer and operates as an engineering and manufacturing company.
