Ashok Leyland has launched a range of products based on ‘Intelligent Exhaust Gas Recirculation (iEGR)’ technology at its Zonal Conference 2017 on June 16, 2017. The new technology, which was unveiled in April, would aid in achieving the BS-IV emission norms that were adopted by the country on April 1 this year. The ban on sale and registration of BS-III vehicles by the Supreme Court starting April 1, had left a number of auto manufacturers with unsold inventory of BS-III vehicles.
This new technology, however, is expected to help the company to convert their existing inventory into BS IV-compliant vehicles. Further, the company is hoping that the use of this technology will bolster its ambitions to be the market leader in North India.
Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
