HDFC Bank raises Rs 2,000 crore on private placement basis

HDFC Bank, one of the most prominent private sector lenders, has issued and allotted on a private placement basis 7.56% Unsecured, Subordinated, Fully Paid-Up, Non-Convertible, Basel III compliant, Tier 2 Bonds for inclusion in Tier 2 Capital for capital adequacy purpose amounting to Rs 2,000 crore (20000 Bonds of face value Rs10,00,000 each).

HDFC Bank has posted a rise of 18.25% in its net profit at Rs 3990.09 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2017 as compared to Rs 3374.22 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the Bank increased by 14.30% at Rs 21560.66 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 18862.61 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2016.
