Ashok Leyland zooms on reporting 11% jump in June sales

Ashok Leyland is currently trading at Rs. 99.15, up by 5.30 points or 5.65 % from its previous closing of Rs. 93.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 94.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 99.25 and Rs. 93.50 respectively. So far 1746622 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 100.55 on 01-Jul-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 73.60 on 22-Nov-2016.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 99.30 and Rs. 89.95 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 28723.94 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.38%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 27.75% and 21.86% respectively.

Ashok Leyland has reported a jump of 11% in June 2017 sales to 12,330 units, as against 11,108 units sold in the same period of last year. The company reported a rise of 6% in its medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) products segment to 9,202 units in June 2017, as compared to 8,685 units in June 2016.

The light commercial vehicle (LCV) of the company registered sales of 3,128 units in June 2017, a rise of 29%, as compared to 2,423 units sold in June 2016.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship company in India, is engaged in the manufacturing of commercial vehicles and related components. The company’s products include buses, trucks, engines, defense and special vehicles.
