Arvind is planning to buy around one million metres of khadi denim every year from Khadi and Village Industries Commission(KVIC). In this regards, an agreement between Arvind Mills and KVIC was signed in Ahmedabad on July 21, 2017.
Under the MoU, khadi denims and other khadi products made by Arvind will bear KVIC’s certification mark. This deal will not only enhance the khadi’s sales annually by Rs 40 crore but will also increase the economic stability of khadi artisans across India, by providing them Rs 2 crore as extra incentives.
Arvind is India’s largest integrated textile player and is one of the oldest and most respected groups in the Textile Business in India. The company is also one of the largest producers of denim fabrics and is supplier to a large number of fashion brands in the world.
