Central Bank of India surges on the bourses

Central Bank of India is currently trading at Rs. 75.40, up by 1.10 points or 1.48% from its previous closing of Rs. 74.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 74.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 76.05 and Rs. 74.50 respectively. So far 13965 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 125.00 on 22-May-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs. 70.60 on 17-Aug-2017.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 78.50 and Rs. 70.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 14433.88 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 81.28%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 14.47% and 4.25% respectively.

Central Bank of India has received an approval for allotment of 96,01,536 equity shares of the face value of Rs 10 each to President of India (Government of India) at the issue price of Rs 104.15 per equity share aggregating up to Rs 100 crore. With this allotment, shareholding of President of India (Government of India) has increased from 81.28% to 81.38%. The Capital Raising Committee of the Board of Directors of the Bank at its meeting held on August 18, 2017 has approved for the same.

Central Bank of India holds a very prominent place among the Public Sector Banks on account of its network of 4709 Branches, 4 Extension  counters, along with 29 Satellite Offices (as on December 2015) at various centres throughout the length and breadth of the country.
