Nava Bharat inches up on commencing operations at power plant in Zambia

Nava Bharat Ventures is currently trading at Rs. 176.50, up by 0.10 points or 0.06% from its previous closing of Rs. 176.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 175.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 178.75 and Rs. 173.10 respectively. So far 557 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 246.45 on 28-Jul-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 158.00 on 30-Aug-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 178.95 and Rs. 170.35 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1580.39 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 41.21% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.50% and 30.29% respectively.

Nava Bharat Ventures, Hyderabad-based company has started operations at its 2x150 MW (300 MW) power plant in Zambia. It is also planning to increase production of coal at the Maamba Collieries. The entity is likely to spend up to $750 million in the thermal power plant and coal mining activity. Funding for the project is being handled through banks based out there.

The company is engaged in power generation, sugar and ferro alloys and enlisted the services of a Chinese company, Sepco, to implement the power plant project, after securing various mandatory clearances from the Zambian Government.  Nava Bharat Ventures is engaged in the manufacture, trading, and export of natural minerals, coke, ferro alloys, ores, and alloys in India and abroad.
